Well, she's now constructing her own two-word phrases. That is to say, she's been saying things that are technically two words together for a while, but those were all canned phrases; e.g. "fall down" at the end of "Ring around the Rosie".
But she's now saying "up shoe" and "up shyock" when she wants her shoes or socks taken off. She'll come to us and say "up shoe, up shoe" to have us take her shoe off and then once we've done that she'll say "up shyock" to get us to remove her socks.
Yesterday I heard her say "up shammies" in the morning while pulling at her pajamas (which she's called "shammies" (for "jammies") in the past).
So that's another language development milestone.

Eeee!
Date: 2005-09-07 02:05 pm (UTC)Wow. (does some userinfo and link checking and, yes, it really is you)
Yeah, so it appears that Katherine is about one month older than Amber. Born Jan. 3rd, 2004.
And Katherine definitely repeats things she hears all the time, and not just from other people, but radios, TV, etc. There's a song that we listen to by a singer named David Wilcox that has a chorus which says in part:
"'cause she's got Dad-dy's mon-ey, Dad-dy's mon-ey, Dad-dy's mon-ey holds her hand"
Naturally, Katherine picked up on the repeated stressed words and after the song was over was saying "Daaa-ddy. money. Daa-ddy. money".
This morning when we got her up we turned on her CD of Disney songs to keep her quitet on the changing table. After we dressed her, and turned off the CD, she turned to us and said "chim chim chimmy?". The last song playing had been the chimneysweep song from Mary Poppins. ("Chim chimminey chim chim, chim chim chirree")
